Enjoy an insight into Southern Vietnam with this 3 day / 2 night journey, taking in Ho Chi Minh City, previously known as Saigon, where you can enjoy this sprawling urban wonder which blends old and new beautifully. The journey then heads to The Mekong Delta, an epic network of meandering tributaries full of colour and life. The journey then continues back to Ho Chi Minh City, visiting the Cu Chi tunnels en route.
Arrive in Tan Son Nhat airport, meet you guide and transfer to hotel. Take a rest after your long flight.
Then have a half day city tour in this vibrant city. Ho Chi Minh city - formely Saigon - is the largest city of Vietnam. Beside the unique historical sites such as Cu Chi tunnels, The Presidential Palace, Ho Chi Minh city is paradise of food lover. Additionally its allure comes from their friendly people and effective services.
Start your tour with the first visit to The Central Post office which constructed when Vietnam was part of French Indochina in the early 20th century ( between 1886-1891 ) It was designed and constructed by the famous architect Gustave Eiffel in harmony with the surrounding area.
Inside the Saigon Central Post office of special note are two painted maps that were created just after the post office was first built, the first one located on the left side of the building is a map of Southern Vietnam and Cambodia titled ‘Lignes telegraphiques du Sud Vietnam et Cambodge 1892' which translates to ‘Telegraphic lines of Southern Vietnam and Cambodia 1892” The second map of greater Saigon is titled ‘Saigon et ses environs 1892' translating to ‘Sai Gon and its environment 1892'
Then visit the Reunification Palace ( former Presidential Palace), the site of a dramatic finish to the Vietnam War as tanks crashed through the main gate on the morning of April 30, 1975
Have photo stop at the Saigon Opera House , Notre Dame Cathedral, City Hall then explore the iconic Benthanh Market where you can find many local products and experience the local flavour in its foodcourt
Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Today is a day for the river exploring in Mekong Delta. Early start to leave bustling Ho Chi Minh for the 2 hour drive to Cai Be. The colorful floating market with local traditional wooden boats , vast emerald rice fields and lush back waterways are the things that make Cai Be such a desired destination. Arrive Cai Be, get on thelocal boats then cruise on the floating market , where you can witness the unique way of advertising : product for sale is hung on a pole in front of boats to attract customers and make it easier for people to see from afar what is on offer.
After visiting the floating market continue to a cottage factory where ‘pop-rice’, rice paper and coconut candies are made. Then cruise to Dong Hoa Hiep Island, admiring the scenery and the daily life of the local villagers along the way. Lunch is typical Mekong style serving specialties of the area. After lunch, drive back to Ho Chi Minh city.

Depart from your hotel at 08:00 to Cu Chi for exploring the amazing undergroudn tunnels.
The tunnels consist of more than 200kilometers. This main axis system has many branches connecting to underground hideouts, shelters, and entrancesto other tunnels.
The network included innumerable trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers and kitchens.
Today the remaining tunnels have become a major tourist attraction giving the visitor a unique experience and a feel of what underground life was like during the U.S.-Vietnam War.
Return to Ho Chi MInh city around 13:00 , end of tour.
